This gorgeous gown from the Oleg Cassini Collection was an impromptu purchase made by my mother, grandmother, and I as we were looking to waste time as we arrived early before a family dinner in Buffalo, NY. It is from a bridal boutique, and is very easy to wear. When I walked into the shop I knew exactly what I wanted because I have been in nearly a dozen weddings as a BM and I knew that it had to have the following:
1) straps to keep the gown in place with my dancing habits 2) eating room (I had 2 dinners that night! You'll need your sustenance, ladies!) 3) champagne color because it photographs well 4) light and durable with no "seat belt" fasteners inside. I've seen friends with bruised rib cages and cut skin after wearing heavy and over the top gowns before.
I love everything about this dress. I'm a B/C cup and the only alteration my seamstress made was the added cups inside (which are easily removeable). This A) enhanced my chest to round out a better proportioned look and, B) raised the gown off the floor giving it a 1/2 inch lift, therefore I did not require any hemming.
There is a two-tiered bustle included ready to go for easy walking and dancing, although the train is quite beautiful!
To this day, I still receive compliments. Oleg Cassini is a timeless piece. As an added gift, I'll include a free Cassini bridal book with famous classics at an $80 value with the purchase of this gown. It makes the perfect coffee table book :)
